Harold Dean Dyson, Sr.

KERNERSVILLE - Harold Dean Dyson, Sr., 77, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in Myrtle Beach, SC. Harold was born on January 9, 1937 in North Wilkesboro to Culvery and Ila Corrine Gant Dyson. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. Harold loved sports, working on cars and being outdoors. He was one of a kind! Harold was an amazing father and grandfather, whose spirit, love and character will remain with his family forever. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Dyson; and 3 sisters, Nancy Essick, Jackie Weavil and Genevie Butcher. Surviving are two sons, Harold Dean Dyson, Jr. and Mark Dwayne Dyson (wife, Tina) of Surfside, SC; a daughter, Dawn Dyson Cook; 7 grandchildren, Daniel Dyson (wife, Alison), Lauren Dyson, Tara Shepard, Nichole Dyson, Brittany Cook, Christa Dyson, Brandi Cook; 2 great grandchildren, Kylee Guthy and Kealy Shepard; and one brother, John L. Dyson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
