Harold Eugene Jones

WALKERTOWN-Harold Eugene Jones, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He was born May 2, 1929 in Ashe Co. to the late Delmer Scott and Carrie Shepherd Jones. Harold was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. He retired from the NC Dept. of Transportation after 30 years of service as an Assistant Locating Engineer. Volunteering for Meals On Wheels was one of Harold's many selfless acts of kindness. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carmon and Clifford Jones; and a son-in-law, Jimmy McGee. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Bobbie Hudler Jones; two daughters, Shawn (James) Carrier and Susan McGee; three grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Moore, Jake (Katie) McGee, Brittany (Jon) Laing; six great-grandchildren, Jones, Gunner, Ethan, Avery, Tanner and Caelan; one brother, Ralph (Polly) Jones; four nephews and two nieces. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Pastor Kent Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
