Harry Hemrick

Mr. Harry L. Hemrick, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Winston-Salem Rehab. He was born on February 16, 1926 in Forsyth County to Louis "Curtis" and Etta Johnson Hemrick. Mr. Hemrick served in the Merchant Marines and in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked at Duke Power as a lineman and for Pace Oil Company. Mr. Hemrick was a Ham radio operator and enjoyed talking with people all over the world. Mr. Hemrick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Hemrick. Surviving are his wife, Lucienne D. Hemrick; daughter, Laura Coggins and husband Dale; two grandchildren, Monica Coggins and Christopher Coggins; two great grandsons, Tyler Mendiola and Kaison Coggins; one sister, Janet Dopson; one brother, Ben Hemrick and wife Judy. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
