Harry Morris, Jr.

Mr. Harry Lee Morris Jr., 68, rode the glory train to heaven Sunday, April 22. He was born March 14, 1950 in Forsyth County to the late Harry Lee Morris Sr. and Winnie Poindexter Morris. Harry was an avid Duke basketball and Wake Forest football fan. He was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church and nothing meant more to him than his family. Harry had many special friends and was loved by all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cheryl Collins Morris; two sons, Harry Lee Morris III (Kristin) and Wiley Kenneth Morris (Katie Pepper); one sister, Brenda Mickey (Ted); five nieces and nephews: Drew Mickey, Katy Stanley (Bryan), Jamie Tuttle (Molly), Justin Roberts and Taylor Roberts; father-in-law, Ken Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Carol Hunter and Trina Roberts; and a special extended family; Jason, Leslie, Maddie, Mason, and Morgan Stopyra. A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Dr. Suzanne Michael and Rev. Bill Currie officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 5125 Shattalon Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27106 and the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W.Lilburn, GA 30047.
