Harvey Gene King

Harvey Gene King, 88, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with his family by his side.

Harvey was born on January 10, 1937, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Harvey Woodlief and Pearl Chandler.

Serving as a Navy Veteran, Harvey was also a devoted Christian and servant of the Lord throughout his life. He was always willing to help others, and he never met a stranger. He was always witnessing to others. In his free time, Harvey was a avid golfer and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Woodlief and Pearl Chandler Simpson; and his sister, Brenda Kay.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Betty Angel King; his daughters, Beverly Ann (Gary), Bonretta Lynn (Tim), Robin (Curtis) and Patricia Brenee’; grandchildren, Christopher, Robert (Emily), Patricia (Randall), Kristen (Matt), Dale, Nikki (Justin), Carla (Amanda), Cliff, Caitlyn (David), Shanna (Stan) and Jessica; great grandchildren, Olivia, Lyla, Wade, Riley, Raini, Breanna, Anna, Annabelle, Skyler, Shyanna. Mark, and Lane; great-great grandchildren, Madelyn Grace and Morgan; sisters, Bunny and Ronye (David); sisters in law, Barbara and Nancy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 2:00PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Rey Rodriguez and Pastor Dan Luper officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harvey's honor to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
