Hazel Johnson

Ms. Hazel Lee Johnson, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was born June 27, 1923 in Wilkes County to Rebecca Gregory Johnson and Samuel T. Johnson. Ms. Johnson retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; 14 brothers and sisters; a son, Kyle Gray and a granddaughter, Angela Jarrell. Surviving are a great grandson, Michael Jarrell (Chelsea) of Tobaccoville; a great granddaughter, Melissa Jarrell of King; a great great granddaughter, Madelyn Ray; a daughter-in-law, Madge Johnson of Reedy Creek; a sister, Evie "Sis" Combs of Gibsonville and a nephew, Ken Johnson (LaRue) of Pilot Mountain and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
