Hazel Kilby

Mrs. Hazel Mae Brinkley Kilby, 92, of Kernersville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019. She was born November 26, 1926 in Forsyth County, to the late Raymond Clinton Brinkley and Gertrude Kapp Brinkley. Mrs. Kilby was a member of Oak Summit United Methodist Church and she enjoyed volunteering at Forsyth Medical Center. She loved listening to music, crocheting, knitting, reading, and shopping. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, J. W. Kilby, Jr., and two sisters Marie Kapp Brinkley and Dorothy Brinkley Cranfill. Surviving are her daughter, Karen McGee (Mac), son, James Wiley Kilby, III (Debbie), grandson, Kevin McGee, and niece, Sharon Fox. A graveside service will be conducted in her honor 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Eric Tang. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to either Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to the VFW Memorial Honor Guard, 4433 Bashavia Drive, Pfafftown, NC 27040.
