Hazel Smith Oliver

Mrs. Hazel Smith Oliver, 71, of Winston-Salem, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 . She was born April 12, 1943 in Radford, VA to Millard Fillmore Smith and Jettie Small Smith.. Mrs. Oliver was a loving wife and a remarkable mother. She was member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, a warrior for Christ and a champion witness to others. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clay Oliver, Jr.; a daughter, Jettie Myers and sisters and brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Florence Sink (Eric) and one son , Clay Oliver, III (Karla); five grandchildren, Mearl Turner, Eric Sink, Jr. (Becca), Jonathan Sink (Erica), Hannah Grace Sink and Clay Oliver, IV; three great grandchildren, Erica, Liam and Jonathan; two sisters, June Smith and Clara McCrary; one brother, Eddie Smith and a son-in-law, Greg Myers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
