Hazel Hester Smith

Mrs. Hazel Hester Smith, 101, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1914 in Belews Creek, the daughter of the late, James Henry and Ella Fulp Hester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralto W. Smith, two sons, Ronald Williard Smith and Jerry Roger Smith, one sister and three brothers. Survivors include one son, Jimmie L. Smith and wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Betty Willard, Phyllis Dyson and husband, John and Nancy Wall and husband, Jimmy; nine grandchildren, Martha Boose and husband, Don, Dennis Willard and wife, Donna, Bobby Fulk and wife, Susan, Johnny Dyson and wife, Diane, David Dyson, Robin Conner and husband, Billy, Douglas Wall and wife, Jackie, Susan Smith and Charles Smith and wife, Suzanne; twelve great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jay Boyce officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM.
