Hazel Young

Mrs. Hazel Mildred White Young, 89, went to be with the Lord June 30, 2019.  She was born September 4, 1929 in Stokes County to the late Joseph Carson White and Mary Lou Ligon White.  Hazel was a long time member of Leake Memorial Baptist Church which exemplified her love for her church and the Lord.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother to her family, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Wilburn Lee “Buddy” Young, four brothers and one sister.  She is survived by her son, Darin Young and wife Susan; grandson, Zach Young and girlfriend Autumn Kessels; two brothers, Donald and Jackie White; one sister, Barbara Ann Tucker and husband Danny; one sister-in-law, Sylvia White, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Leake Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Brandon and Rev. Paul Norman, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall, beginning at 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
