Helen Phelps Frye

Mrs. Helen Phelps Frye, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born September 8, 1919 in Forsyth County to Earl and Nanny Sue Coggins Phelps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Sanford Frye; and five brothers. Surviving are three sons, Ron Frye (Sue) of Mooresville, Dennis Frye of Lewisville, and Danny Frye (Debbie) of King; one daughter, Freda Frye Mabe (Jack) of Clemmons; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Special thanks to The Oaks at Forsyth for the 13 years of excellent care and service, and also to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
