Helen Venable Hall

Helen Venable Hall, 93, of Westfield, passed away June 29, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on November 25, 1929, in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Samuel Harvel Venable and Ida Simmons Venable.  Helen was a devout Christian and member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, her passion in life was caring for her family. Helen spent her time growing her own food in her garden, cooking, baking, and helping her husband with their Tobacco Farm. There was always something to eat when you entered her home. Helen spent many wonderful years going to her beach home where she and her late husband enjoyed fishing with family at Kure Beach. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She truly knew how to spread sunshine in the lives of others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Roy Gene Hall; son, Greg Hall; her five brothers, Harry Venable, Bobby Venable, Darrell Venable, Billy Venable and Allen Venable; and her two sisters, Betty Vaden and Thelma King. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Hall Kiser and husband Ronald; grandchildren, Jason Kiser (Miranda), Jarrett Kiser (Staci); Kerry Conner (David), Ted Hall (Erica); five great- grandchildren, Lexi Martin, Kailey Trivett, Anson Kiser, Ayla Kiser, Presley Hall; and three sisters-in-laws, Greta Hall, Barbara Hall and Carolyn Venable. A graveside service celebrating Helen’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2023, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Westfield with Pastor Jon White officiating. Mrs. Hall will lie-in-state from 3:00-5:00 Sunday afternoon, July 2, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
