Mrs. Helen Morgan Highfill, 92, of Winston-Salem died on February 6, 2016 at The Oaks at Forsyth. Helen was born in Forsyth County on September 23, 1923 to Mamie Potts and Earnest Luther Morgan. She graduated from Mineral Springs High School and was a dedicated and long standing member of Northwest Baptist Church. Her family will remember her as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Clyde Melvin Highfill; three brothers, William Morgan, E.L. Morgan Jr., and Charles Morgan; and three sisters, Cora Vick, Ruth Komenak, and Margaret Culler. Surviving are two daughters, Janet Salley (husband Bill) of Newport News, VA and Patti Heath (husband Kevin) of Winston-Salem, two grandchildren, Carol Minter (husband Patrick) and Robert Heath; two great grandchildren, Colin Minter and Eli Minter; and one sister, Bobbie Futrell (husband Ralph) of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. There will be a private family committal following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northwest Baptist Church, 407 Petree Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
