Lewisville - Mrs. Helen Peacock Hill, 94, of Lewisville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014, at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hill was born on August 10, 1920 in Winston-Salem to Ernest and Lilly Peacock. Known as MawMaw to her family, she loved spending time with everyone together. Her family was very important to her. She also loved spending time with her church family at Center Grove Baptist Church, listening to gospel music, doing word searches, watching soap operas and game shows, and watching Tiger Woods play golf. MawMaw always kept a clean house, dressed elegantly, and had her hair done just right.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Paul (Gooch) Edward Hill; one brother, Ernest Peacock; and two sisters, Jenny Thompson and Margarite Brooks. She is survived by one sister, Ernestine Wishon; two sons: Paul Hill (Sandy) of Clemmons and C.C. ""Dumpy"" Hill (Sherry) of Pfafftown; nine grandchildren: Craig Hill (Kristen), Mike Hill, C.C. Hill (Lori), Paula Ebert (Jeff), Josh Hill (Clara), Heather Miller, Angie Cullen (Sean), Rommel Burford, and Paul Burford; eleven great-grandchildren: Steven, McKenzie, Hannah, Kallie, and Brandon Hill, Jeffrey, Katherine, and Joshua Ebert, Kimberly Burford, and Riley and Quinn Cullen; several nephews and nieces; and two special friends: Socorro Rabon and Tinky Drane. Special thanks to the staff of Bermuda Commons and Liberty HomeCare and Hospice Services for all of the love and care shown to MawMaw and her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Center Grove Baptist Church in Clemmons, NC with Dr. Stephen Corts and Pastor Josh Hill officiating. Burial will be following at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:45pm at the church.
