Helen Robertson Idol

Mrs. Helen Robertson Idol, 94, of Winston-Salem passed away suddenly on November 30, 2013. She was born August 14, 1919 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late, Coston E. and Bunah Mock Robertson. Mrs. Idol was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. She loved her church and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Idol whom she married on April 29, 1939 and her son, Gary E. Idol. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Idol Gatewood and husband, Rodney (Dan) of Winston-Salem; her grandson, Trent D. Gatewood and wife, Theresa of Advance; her great granddaughter, Danielle Lynn Gatewood; her sister, Ruby Robertson Saylor of Winston-Salem; her sister-in-law, Ruth Speas Robertson of Rural Hall; her daughter - in-law, Nicki B. Idol of High Point; and many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Rev. Worth Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service in the Banquet Room of the church.
