Helen Mickey Porter

Mrs. Helen Mickey Porter, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017. She was born August 1, 1927 in Forsyth County to Amisetta Sharpe Mickey and Joy Evan Mickey. Mrs. Porter was a former member of New Hope Christian Church and recently attended Hope Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, Robert A. Porter, Sr. Surviving are a daughter, Claudia Tuttle and husband Raymond of Walkertown; a son, Bob Porter and wife Kim of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Chris Everhart and wife Jennifer, Chad Everhart, Matthew Porter and Sara Porter; one sister, Nancy M. Belton; two nieces, Vickie Roark and husband Ivan and Melissa Money and husband Steve; one nephew, Marty Belton and wife Stacey and a host of many friends including two special people in her life, Bruce Brown and Bill Fleming. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Paul F. Lanier officiating.
