She was born January 29, 1929 in Midway, the daughter of the late, Worth and Vada Reece Clodfelter. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Pinedale Christian Church where she was active in the Senior Bible Study. She retired from Hanes Hosiery following 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Strickland and a son, Dennis Wayne Bryant. Survivors include two sons, Larry Gene Bryant of Winston-Salem and Donald Ray Bryant and wife, Eugenia of Stony Pointe; two grandchildren, Luke and Dwayne; two step grandchildren, Michael and Jeremy; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and husband, Danny of Archdale and Margaret Perryman and husband, Roy of Midway; and one brother, Jackie Clodfelter and wife, Donna of Southmont. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Bob McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow in Parkland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Home Care of Alexander County, Inc., 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
