Henry Lee Falls, Sr.

Mr. Henry Lee Falls, Sr., 80 of Winston-Salem passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on March 9, 1928 in Chase City, Virginia, the son of the late, Arthur Lee and Ollie Wood Falls. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Reba Lawing Falls; one daughter, Janet Marie Falls; one son, Henry Lee Falls, Jr. and his wife, Betty Carroll Falls; one grandson, Henry Lee Falls, III and his wife, Elizabeth Willett Falls and one granddaughter, Erin Jo Falls. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Jane Lawing, Milford G. Lawing, Wilbur and Marie Bowers, William and Avis Lawing, Hubert and Mary Jo Lawing, Gene and Mary Ann Lawing, Alice Lawing, Allie Lawing and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Falls served in the U. S. Navy. He retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for the last 45 years and was a member of Salem Masonic Lodge. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Brown Memorial Room at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 501 West Fifth Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
