We are heartbroken to share the sudden loss of Henry “Hank” Carlton Mozingo on August 6, 2025. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his wife of over 25 years, Leslie; his children, Shelby and Jarrett; his brother, Lee; his Uncle, Sam Newell; and countless family members, friends, and all who knew him.
Born September 11, 1967, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Roger and Wanda Mozingo, Hank lived a full life of purpose, passion, and adventure. He attended both North Carolina State and James Madison University, where he played Rugby at the collegiate level and internationally.
While beginning his career in Washington, D.C., he met the love of his life, Leslie. They married on December 4, 1999, and later settled in Clemmons, NC, where they built a family and life together. For over 35 years, Hank dedicated himself to a career promoting North Carolina Agriculture, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues across the state and the world.
Hank embodied service, humility, and kindness. He was a devoted son, a loving husband, and the best father his kids could ever dream of having. He put his family above all else, and he never met a stranger.
He is now reunited with his parents and his beloved dog, Ginger. He left an impact on every person who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the love he gave.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 10, at 3:00 PM at Calvary ~ Main Campus. The family will briefly recieve friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made via GoFundMe (Hank's GoFundMe) or mailed to Leslie Mozingo (100 B Stadium Oaks Drive, Clemmons, North Carolina 27012). A portion will support the local Humane Society, and the remainder will help establish a scholarship in Hank’s name at James Madison University - honoring his love for animals and his alma mater.
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Mozingo.
