Henry Heath, Jr.

Mr. Henry Clay Heath, Jr., 70, of Advance, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  Clay was born in Forsyth County on June 16, 1948, to the late Henry Clay Heath, Sr. and Betty York Heath.  Clay graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1966.  He also graduated from Wingate University.  He was a Green Beret in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Clay worked in the Information Technology Department at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, retiring with 34 years of service.  He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church where he served as a Deacon.  Clay was a man of many talents.  Following retirement, Clay developed a passion for woodworking and became a master wood worker.  He also enjoyed creating stained glass and repairing clocks.  Surviving to treasure his memories are his wife, Weeta Spainhour Heath of the home; one son, Jason Clay Heath (Kelly) of Pfafftown, NC; a step-son, Shane Baker (fiancé, Chelsea Warner) of Dover, New Hampshire; two granddaughters, Hannah Heath and Baleigh Layell; one sister, Jackie Covington (Joe) of Clemmons, NC; two nieces, Susan Carter of Winston-Salem and Sandra Cairncross of El Cajon, CA; and one sister-in-law, Verna Brewer of King, NC.  A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Matthew Sink and Pastor Bill McKenzie officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the building fund or missions of Pinedale Christian Church, 3395 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Heath.
