Mr. Henry Garfield Holleman Sr., 85, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home. Mr. Holleman was born in Forsyth County to the late Lonnie and Pearl Macemore Holleman on April 21, 1932. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War, after which he worked in the glass industry for PPG Industries and Pfaff's Glass, Inc., retiring in 1991. Henry was a member of South Fork Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing at the North Carolina coast and going to yard sales. He is survived by his wife Marian Vaden Holleman; son Henry Holleman Jr. and wife Sherrie; daughter Susan Kennedy and husband Bruce; grandsons Henry Holleman III, Carl Wayne Holleman, Aaron Holleman, Asa Tyler Holleman and wife Elizabeth, and Jared Kennedy; great-granddaughter Madison Grace Holleman; sister Edith Messer; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Holleman was preceded in death by his parents; son Randy Holleman; brother Carl Holleman; and sisters Dorothy Hicks, Virginia Mackie, Ruth Smith, and Ruby Spears. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Waughtown Cemetery in Winston-Salem, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating.
