Mr. Henry Edgar Rogerson, 87, of Wake Forest, NC passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Pruitt Health Care.
Henry was born in Edenton, NC to the late Henry Soloman and Emma Griffin Rogerson on March 6, 1930. He loved to fish, rabbit hunt, play poker, watch ACC Basketball and was a fan of The Atlanta Braves. Henry served his country in the National Guard from 1948 until 1964. He worked as manager and buyer with Mother and Daughters Stores in Winston-Salem. He retired from Maxway Store where he was manager. Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Yates Huey Rogerson, sisters, Elizabeth Wright and Catherine Sawyer, and brothers, Richard Rogerson, Rodney Rogerson and Sheldon Rogerson.
Henry is survived by daughters, Karyn Rogerson Holland and husband Jay, Vanessa Huey Parks and Sandra Huey Jones; son, Patrick M. Huey and wife Susan; brother, Ray Rogerson of Atlanta; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3 pm at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Winston-Salem, with Mr. James Percival officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
