Henry Howard Sapp

COLFAX - Henry Howard Sapp, 81, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home. Howard was born on October 15, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Charles Dewey and Dillie Slate Sapp. Howard was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was self-employed, specializing in general building construction for many years. Howard's favorite pastime was fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Louise Sapp; three sisters; and one brother. Surviving are two sons, David Sapp (wife, Dawn) of Kernersville, and Terry Sapp of Colfax; two daughters, Susan Shell of Winston-Salem and Jennifer Donnell of Raleigh; two sisters; and one brother. Howard will be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially Melissa who was his caregiver. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel . Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
