Herbert Alvis Chrismon

Winston-Salem- Mr. Herbert Alvis Chrismon, 101, passed away Monday October 20, 2025, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on December 25, 1923, in Guilford County, the son of Al C. and Clorene Isley Chrismon. A member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, he was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Chrismon retired from Carolina Linen and later worked for Lucia. A member of the American Bowling Association, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and eating his favorite foods. He was a calm, easy-going person who enjoyed his family and others. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Chrismon; two daughters, Gail Moffitt, Denise Chrismon and seven siblings. Survivors include daughter, Christine Chrismon of Wisconsin; a son, Al Chrismon (Melissa) of Walnut Cove; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a sister, Lutitia Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held at 12 PM Friday, October 24, 2025, in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wesley Bullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
