Herbert Leon Harris passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Mr. Harris was born May 10, 1931 in Rockingham County. He served in the Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harris lived many years in High Point and retired from Wilson Machine Shop after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas G. and Harriett Foster Harris; his first wife, Dorothy S. Harris; and granddaughter, Ashley. Survivors include his wife, Helen Teague ""Molly"" Harris of Winston-Salem; four children, 3 daughters and 1 son: Barbara Harris of High Point, Kathy Burney (Tommy) of Trinity, Stacy Branson (Carlton) of High Point, and David L. Harris (Wanda) of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Harris had 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his one sister, Rebecca Boyles of High Point. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point, and will be officiated by Pastor Jimmy Bowden.
