Herbert Litchfield, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Royal Litchfield, Jr., 80, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born February 16, 1937 in Littleton, Mass., the son of the late, Herbert Royal Litchfield, Sr. and Doris Powderly Litchfield. Mr. Litchfield was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where had served as an Elder. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from Sears Roebuck following 30 years of service. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Grace Love Litchfield of the home; one son, Herbert Royal Litchfield, III and wife, Blanca of Winston-Salem; four daughters, Cynthia Lucas and husband, Lance and Stephanie Olson and husband, Bill of Winston-Salem, Karen Lilly and husband, Phillip of Statesville, and Grace Williams and husband, William of Conover; a son in law, Gregory Hoots of Winston-Salem; eleven grandchildren, Gracie Hughes and husband, Jeremy, Danielle Runion and husband, Dustin, Tiffany Cogar and husband, Zach, David Holland, William Williams and wife, Abby, Grayson Williams, Michael Arlt, Herbert Arlt, IV, Samantha Wagner and husband, Aaron, Tyler Lucas and Jesse Lucas; and twelve great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM.
