Herbert Sink Tesh, 88, of Community Road, passed away October 5, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Arcadia on January 20, 1937, to Woodrow and Kathleen Sink Tesh. He grew up on the family farm with his 3 brothers, Dale, James, and Jerry, and his sisters Marvelle and MaryAnn. He was of the Moravian faith, and served in the Moravian band for many years alongside his family.
Herbert married and settled in the community where he was raised. He loved to play community softball and coached many boys’ baseball and girls’ softball teams. He loved to go to the coast and enjoyed fishing and golf trips. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his granddaughter, Elizabeth, play sports. He never missed a game, meet, or match.
An engineer by trade, he was a designer draftsman for Proctor and Schwartz. He could figure out how to fix almost anything. Even after he could no longer do the work, he could tell you how to do the job. As long as he was alive, he was still sharp as a tack and had a wealth of knowledge.
Herb is survived by his daughter, Cindy Tesh Miles and her husband David; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Miles Haynes, and her husband, Bryce; his two great grandsons, Braxton and Carter Haynes; his friend and companion for many years, Alexandra Pinkston; his sisters, Marvelle Foltz and MaryAnn Mode (Charles); and a sister-in-law, Polly Tesh.
It was his wish that there be no service and we will honor that request. In his remembrance, go support your favorite kid playing a sport, dedicate some time to your community or church, go fishing and don’t worry about catching any fish, or simply take the scenic route one day, because that man loved to travel the long way and take in all the nature the world had to offer! He will be sorely missed!
