Herman Swift

KERNERSVILLE – Herman Melton Swift, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Piney Grove Nursing & Rehab. Herman was born on September 8, 1937, in Forsyth County to William and Geneva Aldridge Swift. He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church as he was able to. Herman was known as “computer tech support” to his family and friends. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Randall Swift; his grandson, Mitchell Philip Swift; two brothers, Charles and Roy Swift; a sister, Billie Jean Swift; and stepfather, Jack Frogg.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Swift; two daughters, Robin Walker (husband, C.C.) of Walkertown, and Samantha Boyce (husband, Jay) of Winston-Salem; a son, Jeff Swift (wife, LeAnne) of New London; as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate and Rev. Jay Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Thursday at the funeral home.
