Hessie King

Mrs. Hessie “Lou” King, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at the home of her brother in Lexington.  She was born January 1, 1945 in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Colen G. and Gladys Wadell Prevette.  She was retired from the City of Winston-Salem.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gray King; two sisters, Bonnie Atwood and Erma Poindexter; and two brothers, Grady Prevette and Howard Prevette.  She is survived by one brother, Calvin Prevette and wife, Jackie of Lexington and a number of nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be conducted Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Woodland Cemetery with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
