Hester Myers Shelton

Mrs. Hester Myers Shelton, 83, of Winston-Salem, NC died peacefully December 11, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born April 28, 1932 in Gretna, VA, the daughter of the late, John and Alva Myers. Mrs. Shelton was a very caring compassionate and loving person. She retired from Big Star Food Stores, Loehmann's, and J. C. Penny's. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Shelton. Survivors include two sons, Donald Edwin Mills and Ricky Alan Shelton; one granddaughter, Samantha Airin Mills; one sister, Ruth Cottingham and husband, Charles; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, 703 North Main Street, Danville, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
