Hilda Widener

Mrs. Hilda Rose Rowe Widener, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Hilda was born in Davidson County to L. Clifton and Bernice Pickett Rowe. She was a long time member of Rural Hall Church of God and she retired from Western Electric after many years of service. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, fishing, and water skiing. She loved dogs, especially her beloved Tori. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Vestle. Hilda is survived by her son, Terry Lee Widener and wife Rebecca; granddaughter, Sherri Routh and husband Scott; grandson, Jonathan Widener; great grandchildren, Savannah and Kaelin Routh; and brother, Donald Rowe. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday Oct. 3, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor James Eston Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rural Hall Church of God, P.O. Box 609, Rural Hall, NC, 27045.
