Hillard Haynes

Mr. Hillard T. Haynes, 93, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, March 23, 2009. He was born June 26, 1915 in McDowell County to William Sherman and Ellie Marlow Haynes. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.C. Air Force. Surviving are his wife, of 63 years, Ina Kay Lankford Haynes of Winston-Salem; a daughter, LuAnn Chapple and husband, Matthew of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Brad Rose and wife, Crystal of Clemmons and Allison Chapple of Winston-Salem; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Zoey Rose. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Mike Miller officiating. Military Rites will be given by VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Davidson County.
