We mourn the loss of our beloved father, Hillary Wilson Douglas, Sr. He passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on October 8, 2026.
He was a loving father to his two sons, Wilson and Robert, and a loving partner to Marie Noah for 20 years. He spent most of his life working at Miller Brewing Company in Eden, NC. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his time traveling with Marie to the mountains or going to festivals. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves behind his oldest son, Wilson Douglas (Tanya), and their children, Amber (her children, Aubrey and Adalee) Amanda (her children, Ivan, Logan, EZ, Miklo, and Penelope); Amy and her husband Chad and his youngest son, Robert William Douglas (Wendy), and their children Samantha and her husband Ryan (children, Josiah, Madelyn, Kayden, Olivia, Rylan, and a baby due March 2027); Kala, Erica (her children Dominic and a baby due in November 2026) and Patricia. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Renee Douglas; two brothers, Larry and GW; four sisters, Carolyn, Janet, Linda, and Cathy; and his grandson Bobby.
His last words to his sons were to love each other very much, to be kind to one another, and help each other. He told them they were good sons. He told them to raise their children and grandchildren well. He wanted everyone to know they were dearly loved and that he would be waiting for us on the other side. Marie and all of us loved him very much as well. He was wonderful father, grandfather, and friend.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, at King Moravian Church with Rev. Zach Dease officiating. Interment will follow the service at King Moravian Church’s God’s Acre. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
