Mr. Howard Hampton Adams passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 27, 2019 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on May 2, 1936 to the late Thomas “Papa” Zemriah Adams and Lucinda McCollum Adams. Howard enjoyed the farm and driving a tractor. He retired as owner from Adams Sand Company. His son Kevin took over the company, however Howard continued to be the boss. Howard was a good Christian man and most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers Junior, Ray, Dan, and Pete; and three sisters Gypsy, Erie, and Jane. Howard is survived by his wife Wanda Lane Adams; two sons Kevin Adams and Kent Adams (Diane); two brothers Alvin and Robert Adams; sister Jean Tuttle; grandchildren, Kelly, Amber, Hailie, Parker; a special friend Jack, who helped Howard at the sand company; and wonderful friends Don and June Koontz who were always there for him. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Life Impact Church. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Life Impact Church. Online condolences can be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
