Howard Lee Bodford

Mr. Howard Lee Bodford, 88, passed away December 21, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 13, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late Paul Joseph Bodford and Edna Bowen Bodford. He was a member of Bethesda Moravian Church. Mr. Bodford served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Bodford and his brothers, William Edward Bodford and Paul Max Bodford. Mr. Bodford is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Cline Bodford; four children, C. Allen Bodford and wife Erin of Tennessee, Melanie B. Moser and husband, Alex of Lewisville, Mark Bodford and wife Meredith of Wilmington, and Cheryl Weathers and husband David of Winston-Salem; a brother, Clint Bodford and wife Martha of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Salem Moravian Graveyard with the Rev. Richard Spaugh and the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
