Howard Eugene Chaney

Mr. Howard Eugene Chaney, 79, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Grayson Creek of Welcome. He was born on January 26, 1935 in Forsyth Co. to Grover R. Chaney and Viola Mae Hall. Mr. Chaney retired from Air Condition Corporation with 45 years of service, where he rarely missed a day of work. He was an avid golfer with several hole-in-ones. Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nadine Ring Chaney; son, Michael Ray Chaney; sister Emma Davis; and brother Robert Chaney. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hall and husband Gary of Welcome, Debbie Gray and husband Mike of Eden; one son, Robert Lee Chaney and wife Tammy of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Shawn Christie, Jennifer Hopper, Nikki Somers; two brothers, Grover A. Chaney, Edward W. Chaney; one sister, Annie Mae Davis; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Phil Hulen officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff of Grayson Creek of Welcome for the loving care shown to Howard.
