Hyon Chong

Greensboro - Hyon Chong, 89, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his home. Hyon was born on April 7, 1929 in Shineuju, North Korea. Hyon worked as an electrician for the US Embassy for a number of years.
In addition to his parents, Hyon was preceded in death by his daughter, Sunju Chong.
Surviving are his wife, Young Sun Chong; his son, Kiju Jung (wife, Giyoung) of San Diego, CA; his daughter, Sunhe Yook (husband, Seunghee) of Jamestown, NC; three grandchildren, Renee Jung, Grace Yook, and Seth Yook.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at Mt. Gur Cemetery.
