Ilene Peddycord

Ilene Henderson Peddycord, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Trinity Village of Hickory. Ilene was born on October 31, 1925 in Forsyth County to Luther and Mittie Holcomb Henderson. She worked for Western Electric and was a member of the Pioneers Club, eventually retiring after 30 years of service. Ilene was an active member of Fairview Moravian Church where she was a part of the ladies Circle Group, participated in Meals on Wheels and was in charge of the church newsletter. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Wesley Peddycord; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving family includes her daughter, Teri P. Crowe and husband Keith of Hickory; three grandchildren: Brittany Crowe Brown and husband Patrick of Claremont, Kelsey Andrea Crowe of Lincolnton and Drew Crowe who is currently attending Western Carolina University; four great-grandchildren: Kendell, Cole, Sky and Peyton; one sister, Margie H. Freeman of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Fairview Moravian Church, with Rev. Scott Venable officiating. Burial will follow the service in Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service in the church parlor.
