Ilias Hatzikostopoulos

Ilias (Louis) Harilaos Hatzikostopoulos, 64, fell asleep in the Lord, Thursday, May 17, 2018 following a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and Lung Cancer. Ilias was born on January 15, 1954 in Karpenisi, Evrytania, Greece. He was the son of the late Haralambos and Virginia Hatzikostopoulos. Ilias immigrated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina on January 7, 1978, following the footsteps of his older brother James Hodges, with his wife Stella Veziri Hatzikostopoulos. He met his wife Stella while serving in the Greek Army in Lamia, Greece. Winston-Salem is where he started his lifelong journey of restaurant entrepreneurship and his family. It all began with the Mayflower Restaurant Group In 1982 and he spread his knowledge and intense work ethic to Tennessee, Virginia and the Carolinas. Ilias was extremely hard-working and his generosity knew no bounds. His infectious smile led him to create lifelong friendships where everyone came to know his heart of gold and selfless personality.

Ilias is survived by his wife, Stella Veziri Hatzikostopoulos and daughter, Irene Hatzikostopoulos; son, Harry Hatzikostopoulos (fiancé Olivia Morelock), daughter, Joyce Dingus (son-in-law, Terrence), and son, Steven Murray. His grandchildren, Bentley Hatzikostopoulos and Colt James Dingus.

Ilias also leaves behind his loving siblings who will miss his companionship very much. James Hodges and wife Stavroula, Kosta (Gus) Hodges and wife Maria, Dina Baxevanis, Kiki Kakouras and husband Dimitrios, Panorea Liaskonis, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church for the Trisagion Service and 1:30 p.m. for the funeral. May His Memory be Eternal. Online condolences may be made at www.Hayworth-Miller.com.
