Imogean Baker Weavil

Kernersville - Imogean Hazel Baker Weavil, 87, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Imogean was born on May 20, 1929 in Forsyth County to Marvin and Lula Thomas Baker. Imogean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Imogean was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ralph Clarkston Weavil.
Surviving are her sons, Ronnie Clarkston Weavil (wife, Marie) and Lonnie Gray Weavil; four grandchildren, Connie Jo Shanley (husband, Matt), Ronnie Chandler (wife Jennifer), Alex Chandler and John Weavil (wife, Heather); five great grandchildren, Conor and Tyler Shanley, Hudson, Crosby, and Truitt Chandler; and two sisters, Billie Weavil and Pearl Yountz.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Kent Kern officiating. Burial will follow at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
