Inez Davis Calloway

Mrs. Inez Davis Calloway, 91, of Winston-Salem died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 20, 1917 in Yadkin County, the daughter of the late, Samuel B. and Wilda A. Douglas Davis. Mrs. Calloway was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was retired from P. H. Hanes Knitting Company following 42 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Calloway, her sister, Mary Holton and two brothers, Francis Edward Davis and Samuel J. Davis. Survivors include one stepson, ""Rod"" Calloway of King; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Smith and husband, Dean of San Diego, CA; two step grandchildren, Craig Calloway and Nathan Calloway; two brothers, Jerry Davis of Winston-Salem and Robert D. Davis and wife, Luanne of LA; two sisters, Ann Goodson and Betty Brown of Winston-Salem; a special friend, Zelma Long. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25th at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. David Patisall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 Broad Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
