Ingrid "Susie" Margarete Hoffmann, M.D.

Ingrid “Susie” Margarete Hoffmann, M.D., 56, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her home. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 19, 1969, to the late Paul and Christa Starke Hoffmann. Susie grew up in Maryville, TN. She attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from Maryville College. She completed medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and finished her pediatric residency at the University of Louisville Medical Center. Susie then completed the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship program at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She practiced in Winston-Salem from 2001-2024 with the Allergy Partners of the Piedmont. Susie loved her dogs, gardening, and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Albert Shih, M.D.; two daughters, Christa Shih and Sophie Shih; brother, Paul Hoffmann, M.D. and wife, Mitzi; nephew, Zachary Hoffmann and her half-brother, Ralf Starke. 

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Lewisville Drug Company, her cancer team at Atrium Health, Dr. Jimmy Ruiz and Rebecca Kinney, PA-C, and Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care they provided.
