Ira Whitaker, Jr.

Mr. Ira Leroy "Lee" Whitaker, Jr. of Greensboro passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born March 19, 1959 in Winston-Salem to the late Ira Leroy Whitaker, Sr. and Jackaline James Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker graduated from Parkland High School in 1977. He worked for Sharp and Company for many years and then work for Apple Incorporated as a consultant. In his free time, Mr. Whitaker enjoyed all types of movies, Broadway theatre, and playing golf. Preceding him in death are his parents. Surviving are his wife, Diane "Dee Dee" Whitaker, three children: Diana Harris and husband Kyle, Christopher Whitaker and wife Kristyn, and David Whitaker and wife Megan, a granddaughter, Elliott Whitaker, a sister, Robin Branch and husband CW, and a brother, Daniel Whitaker and wife Ann of Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliate Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
