Irene Nowak Ortner

Mrs. Irene Nowak Ortner, 94, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010. She was born December 15, 1915 in Buffalo, NY to the late Peter P. and Lottie Nowak. Mrs. Ortner was a member of St. Leo's The Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Ortner and one son, William Ortner. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Weed (Jeffrey) of Severna Park, MD; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Cook officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
