Irma Jean Shelton

Irma Jean Shelton, 92, of Bermuda Run, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Irma Jean was born to Paul and Annie Jones in Davie County. She was

a graduate of Mocksville High School. Mrs. Shelton was employed by Hunt Manufacturing in Statesville. She was an active member of the American Business Women’s Association, the Iredell County Republican Party and Courtney Baptist Church for many years. Following her

retirement, Irma Jean and L.S. moved back to Davie County, where she enjoyed her new role as church secretary at Courtney Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Irma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, L. S. Shelton, Jr.; her son, Gene Shelton; two brothers, Lewis Jones, and Gerald Jones; and a sister, Betty Cates. Survivors include her devoted daughter, Debbie Vogler (Ed) of Bermuda Run and her daughter, Denise Mabe (Kelly) of Walnut Cove; brother,

Bobby Jones of Mocksville, sister, Shirley Rollins of Mocksville; five grandchildren, Erica Bost (Blake), Leslie Rossner (Gene), Payton Triplett (Bethany), Allison Shelton and Christopher Shore (Amanda); eleven great grandchildren, Emily Pender, Jack Bost, Addie Bost, Ben Bost, Zach Shelton, Skyler Rossner, Tanner Rossner, Thomas Triplett, Matthew Triplett, James Triplett and Grant Shore. Also left to cherish her memory are special friends Debbie and Perry

Crutchfield. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to a special caregiver, Cathy Blackwelder.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2026 at Courtney Baptist Church by Pastor James Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
