Irvin Charles Keck, age 88, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1936, in St. Clair County, Illinois. After graduating from Belleville Township High School in 1953, he joined the US Navy and flew airplanes on the USS Ticonderoga. After completing his service, he graduated from Parks Air College in 1959. His career consisted of working for major plastics companies as National Sales Manager. In 1999, he retired from Colorite Plastics. In retirement, he volunteered with the US National Park Service, Frederick Salvation Army, and Sunnyside Ministries.
Much of his life was focused on farming, family, faith, and friends. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, good sense of humor, and special storytelling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Pearl Keck; and his brother, Harold. He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Knipp Keck; his sons, Burton, Rodney, and Philip; his grandchildren, Austin, Chandler, and Laura; and his great-grandson, Houston.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2 at Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
