Istvan Gava

Mr. Istvan “Steve” Gava, 79, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born in Nopkor, Hungary on April 19, 1939 to the late Istvan Gava and Magdalana Lekli Gava.  Steve proudly became a citizen of the United States in 1982.  He later retired as a mechanic from R. J. Reynolds.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed life to the fullest.  Steve will be greatly missed.  In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 44 years, Notra Marie Jones Gava.  He is survived by three loving step-children: Frankie Gilley (Debbie), Chris Gilley, and Robin Gilley Trivette; four step-grandchildren: Todd, Brent, Josh, and Crystal; four sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.  To honor Steve’s wishes, there will be no formal services held.
