Mr. James Larry Zimmerman, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was born June 22, 1940 in Forsyth County to Katie Belle Holcomb Zimmerman and James Luther Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. Surviving are his wife, Judy Frank Zimmerman; one daughter, Karen Zimmerman Trimble (Jim) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Dalton Scott (Morgan Scott), Wyatt Scott, Alec Trimble and Connor Trimble; one brother, Mike Zimmerman (Cindy) of Clemmons; a niece, Lauren Zimmerman of Austin, TX and numerous cousins, including Paul Holcomb of Winston-Salem. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and the Rev. Peggy Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family thanks the many people who provided special care to Larry throughout his lengthy illness, including Parker Freeman, Larry Boyd and the wonderful staff of the Tab Williams Center and Trinity Elms Nursing Facility.
