Mr. Jack Hill Bryant, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away on April 8, 2016 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. Jack was born on September 20, 1924 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Mr. Kenneth Bryant and Eunice Belle Emerson Bryant. Jack was a loving and faithful husband, a faithful servant to God, and was always a happy and positive person. Jack had a loving, nurturing spirit for the younger generation. Jack loved his family, church, Bluegrass gospel, sports, horses, and other animals. Jack had a passion for ice cream and his peanuts and Coke. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked in the first KFC in Winston-Salem as a short order cook. Jack owned his own trucking company and was especially proud of his dump truck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Marie Roberts and his brother, O.K. Bryant, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mildred Bryant; grandson, Phillip McManus (Amy) and great grandchildren; a sister, Martha Marie Ball; a niece, Martha Ball Warner; a great nephew, John Warner (Angie); three great grandchildren; a great niece, Hellen Marie Bee (David); a great nephew, Butch Roberts; a neighbor and best friend, James Corn (Ruth); step daughters, Elizabeth Cook (A.Q) and Barbara Farrington; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren . A funeral service for Jack will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at Hanes Baptist Church, 4210 Sabrina Lake Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 with Pastor Jason Holley and Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the church.
