Mr. Jack Carter Felk, husband of Janet Elam of this city, passed away on January 11, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He and Mrs. Felk were married July 15, 1950. He was born in Winston Salem on June 22, 1926 to Hugh G. Fulk and Nina Carter Fulk Denny. He was educated in local schools and graduated from R.J.Reynolds High School and Draughns Business College. He attended Guilford College, Greensboro N.C. He was employed by A.T.&T Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He was a former member of Peace Haven Baptist Church where he was a teacher and Deacon, and later, joined Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific fleet. He is survived by his wife, Janet Elam Felk; One daughter and son in-law, Sandra F. and Roy E. Robinson of Harrisburg, NC; Two sons and daughters in-law, Mark Elam Felk and Tracey Chlystun Felk of Spartanburg, SC, and Michael Carter Felk and Bonnie Darnell Felk of Yadkinvile, NC; Four grandchildren, Bradley Neil Robinson and Anna Lea Robinson and Stephen Michael Felk and Olivia Rose Felk;A half-brother, Douglas G. Denny of Maitan, FL. He was preceded in death by one brother, H. Gray Fulk and his parents. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 134 S. Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or to the Charity of donor’s choice.
